Restless. The Issues of Our Time (3): Less TIme, More Issues.
Restless. The Issues of Our Time (3): Less TIme, More Issues. Video documentation, April 18, 2014, Artists Space. [Der Mond, a performance directed by Joachim Hamou and loosely based on the opera with the same name by Carl Orff, is the vehicle for this evening's event. The piece, which is rather a tale actually, will be the subject of reinterpretation, with the few means and participants we have been able to gather, under the music direction of Andreas Führer. The theme of the show is relevant enough; greed and excess that creates fear and stress, even after death. After a break we will see the outcome of Pierre ou, les ambiguïtés, in the final episode Dans le sang ("Into the blood," 53 mins.)] -

The slug sculpture closest to the viewer is the largest and is bound to the column by two straps. The second slug sculpture installed directly behind the first resembles a battering ram and hangs between two columns, suspended by elastic cords. Its body moves back and forth between the columns. A final slug sculpture is installed by the gallery's back wall. It wraps around one of the columns, engulfing it.] -
